Grace and peace to you from God the Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit.

On October 24th, at our evening class, I was honoured by receiving an official ball cap from the ship the U.S.S. New York (LPD 21). The ship’s motto is, “Strength through Sacrifice. Never Forget”. What is so unique about this ship is that the U.S.S. New York contains seven and a half tons of steel that was recovered from the site of where the Twin Towers once stood. When I served in the RCN as lookout on our journey to New York City; I looked over the horizon and the first image I had of New York was the top of the Twin Towers as they rose in the distance….it is an image that will always remain with me.
